CEB SPECIAL BAGGAGE

We advise passengers carrying musical instruments that do not fit as hand carry items to purchase the Musical Instrument allowance through CEB Special Baggage.

The CEB Special Baggage can be purchased during the initial booking process using the CEB mobile app, after guests input their personal information.

If checking in musical instruments through CEB Special Baggage, passengers must ensure they are placed in hardshell cases to prevent damage.

Instruments placed in soft cases or gig bags will not be accepted for check-in.

Regarding the incident, all passengers with violins were able to board and fly. Some violins were able to fit the size limit of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.

As for the violins that exceeded the limit, we advised them to remove the instruments from their cases. The case was checked through for free, and the passengers handcarried the instruments.

We hope this incident sheds light on the need for passengers to check the size limit of bags, instruments or sport equipment that they are bringing with them for their trip.

We would like to remind passengers traveling with musical instruments that those exceeding the standard hand-carry size allowance may be accommodated through CEB Special Baggage.

Passengers may purchase CEB Special Baggage during the booking process via the Cebu Pacific mobile app. To help protect musical instruments during transport, checked-in instruments must be packed in hard-shell cases. Instruments placed in soft cases or gig bags cannot be accepted for check-in, as these do not provide sufficient protection against damage.

With regard to the recent incident, all passengers carrying violins were able to board their flights and travel as scheduled. Some violin cases met the hand-carry size limit of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm and were allowed onboard.

For violins that exceeded the size limit, our airport team worked with the passengers to find a practical solution. The violin cases were checked in free of charge, while the instruments themselves were carefully hand-carried by the passengers into the cabin.

We understand that musical instruments are often valuable and deeply personal belongings. We encourage passengers to review baggage size requirements before traveling so we can help ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for both them and their instruments.
