Two local government units (LGUs) in Caloocan and Iloilo received mobility aids and medical devices, from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program during a turnover ceremony held on February 16, 2026, at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.
Representing Barangay 73, Zone 7 in Caloocan, Kagawad Stephanie Dacanay received five units each of mobility aids, including wheelchairs, canes, and walkers. These assistive devices will be distributed to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens in the barangay to improve mobility, independence, and overall quality of life among vulnerable residents.
Meanwhile, the municipal government of Estancia in Iloilo, represented by Vice Mayor Mark Joseph Cordero, received assistance consisting of 30 units each of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, and walkers to support individuals requiring mobility assistance across the municipality’s communities.
In addition to mobility aids, Estancia also received 20 units each of healthcare equipment, including first aid kits, blood pressure apparatuses, nebulizers, glucometers, thermal scanners, pulse oximeters, and weighing scales. These medical supplies are expected to enhance the capacity of local health facilities and community health programs to provide timely and accessible basic healthcare services, particularly in underserved areas.
The turnover forms part of PCSO’s CSR initiatives aimed at strengthening local government capacity in delivering social and health services. By providing both mobility support equipment and medical devices, the agency continues to advance its mission of promoting community welfare, improving access to healthcare, and extending assistance to sectors most in need.
Local officials expressed their gratitude to PCSO, noting that the donated equipment will greatly benefit senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and residents requiring immediate medical attention at the grassroots level.
