TAMING THE BULLY TO SUBMISSION! (Timeline of Events)

It all started with a video uploaded online, an almost four minute video that revealed how Kurt Matthew Teves together with his bodyguards in what seemed like a bullet-proof vest against  the security guard, Jomar Pajares. 

Kurt was an elected barangay captain in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental. His father, Arnie Teves is a Negros Oriental congressman.  

Jomar Pajares, on the other hand is a simple security guard of BF Homes in Paranaque City.  

Jomar in an interview with BITAG, said that he was punched, kicked and was even asked to get down on his knees just because Pajares was faithfully doing his job. 

But this viral video is not just a piece of evidence, this video has now opened a platform of opinions and judgment on how a elected official should act. 

BITAG lists down the timeline of events on how this issue started:   

March 16, 2022, Wednesday – a private citizen who witnessed the incident uploaded the video on his Facebook account.

March 19, 2022, Saturday – GMA News uploaded an interview with Jomar Pajares. In the interview they mentioned that the respondent was a “son of congressman” 

When GMA News posted this news, the public quickly mentioned the program, “Bitag Live” under Ben Tulfo in the comment section. Netizens used the official hashtag of BITAG, #ipaBITAGmo which prompted the BITAG Search and Response Team to contact Jomar Pajares.  

March 20, 2022, Sunday – at 12:00 MIDNIGHT, the BITAG Search and Response Team quickly messaged the uploader of the video, the uploader then gave the Facebook account of Jomar Pajares. 

At around 10:00 in the evening on Sunday, an assigned BITAG investigator was able to talk to the victim, Jomar Pajares.  Pajares said that he is not yet ready to talk to BITAG  about the incident as he is afraid of his situation. 

BITAG understood Jomar’s situation and gave him time to think.   

March 21, 2022, Monday

At 11:40 AM, BITAG received a message from  Pajares, he said that he is ready to talk to BITAG about the incident, he also agreed to be interviewed by Mr. Ben Tulfo.  

At  2:00 PM, Ben Tulfo interviewed Jomar Pajares in his public service program, #ipaBITAGmo. 

Pajares told BITAG that he positively identified the man as Kurt Matthew Teves.

BITAG, called the Cong. Arnie Teves, the father of Kurt Matthew Teves. In this interview Cong. Teves said that he doesn’t understand why the incident needs to be “hype it up in the media” adding that this might be “POLITICALLY MOTIVATED”

March 22, 2022, Tuesday 

Ben Tulfo interviewed Jomar Pajares on his program, BITAG Live. Pajares told Tulfo that he is scared for his life because of his situation. BITAG offered Pajares a new job, and support in filing possible legal cases against Kurt Matthew Teves.

Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with GMA News, Axl Teves, brother of Kurt Matthew Teves, offered their apologies to Pajares. 

“Hihingi po kami ng patawad sa lahat ng pagkakamali ng brother ko. ‘Yung brother ko po mismo kakausap sayo. Sasamahan ko. I understand natatakot ka dahil naging malaking issue na ito pero in behalf of my family and my brother Kurt I want you to know na willing na willing kami na kumausap sayo nang maayos kung saan mo gusto. Isama po ko kung sino ka comfortable,” Axl said in an exclusive interview with GMA News.

March 23, 2022, Wednesday 

Ben Tulfo during his BITAG Live program discussed the apology made by Axl Teves. The host also consulted with BITAG’s resident lawyer, Atty. Batas Mauricio. Atty. Batas discussed several cases that might be filed against Kurt Matthew Teves. 

The host also announced that because of security reasons, Pajares will be put under the protective custody of BITAG.

AT around 5:00 in the afternoon, during a press conference, Kurt Matthew Teves, while holding a piece of paper, apologized for the incident. The young Teves also announced  his resignation as the barangay chairman in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental. 

“What happened is already done. Whatever the exchange of words were, I was wrong to lay my hands on him. For that, I offer my sincerest apologies,” Kurt said.

“Having said that I must respectfully resign from my office as a public official while I face this problem and give time to reflect on my own personal as well,” Kurt added.

At 7:14 in the evening, Cong. Arnie Teves posted a video with a caption “Hinahamon kita Ben Tulfo!”. According to Teves, his son has a license to own and possess firearms. 

This was followed by an answer from Ben Tulfo himself, in an uploaded Youtube video, Tulfo said that Teves’ recent statement will only do more harm than good to Kurt. 

“Iniipit mo ang anak mo, malalagay sa alanganin, ipinagmamalaki mo na may baril nagpapatunay lamang na may dala siyang baril, sinabi ng gwardiya – bumunot siya ng baril galing sa kanyang tagiliran at tinutok dun sa pobreng gwardiya” Tulfo said.

March 24, 2022, Thursday

Another video has been posted at around 12 in the midnight by Cong. Arnie Teves, this time he questions the intention of BITAG in helping Jomar Pajares. He also said that his son’s decision to resign for his government post is the “highest form of statesmanship”  

“Pero in spite of that, tinira pa rin ni Ben Tulfo, ano ba talaga ang balak ng mga ito? Pang-aapak na lang parati sa ating mga Bisaya at probinsyano?” Teves said in the video. 

Jomar Pajares is still under the custody of BITAG Media. BITAG is currently assisting Jomar Pajares in filling possible legal cases against Kurt Matthew Teves.

On Monday, March 28, police investigators from Las Pinas Police Station will personally visit Jomar Pajares at BITAG’s office to officially get his statement on the incident.

Meanwhile, the case of the security guard will be handled by a topnotch law firm.
