After being mauled, made to kneel by the son of Congressman Arnie Teves and kicked while pleading for mercy, many Filipinos have continuously expressed their sympathy over the 24-year old security guard — Jomas Pajares.
Netizens themselves pitied the situation of Pajares in addition to the trauma that he suffered and feared for his safety.
Pajares earn tons of support and prayers from every Filipino who relate themselves from the situation he’s been with.
One netizen commented that he should stand for his rights as a human being.
Some even compare it to a tale of “David and Goliath.” This comparison becomes even more significant where an “ordinary” Filipino contend with a very powerful political clan in Negros Oriental.
Last Saturday, March 26, Pajares faced the lawyers from Esguerra and Blanco Law Offices who assisted him to file charges against Kurt Matthew Teves.

Jomar Pajares has been in the protective custody of BITAG for a week now. Help and support are pouring from different social organizations to ensure that he will have access to justice.
Frontliners Ang Bida Partylist vowed to prioritize the front-liners, especially the ones working in the grassroots including security guards like Pajares will provide free- legal assistance to him.
“Si Jomar ay isang dating fast food crew at makikita niyo sa timeline ng buhay niya, isa siyang frontliner. So yung ganitong klaseng pagkakataon na ginagampanan mo yung trabaho mo, ginagawa mo ng tama… pero may mga taong abusado, mga taong in authority or in power na mananakit sa’yo its about time na magkaroon ng boses ang mga frontliners,” Celine Pialago of Frontliners Ang Bida Partylist said.
“Kami po ay nakahandang mag-provide ng legal assistance dahil marami naman tayong mga kaibigan na gustong tulungan si Jomar,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support Partylist (ACT-CIS Partylist) ensures livelihood support to Jomar’s family.
“Kung gusto niyang bumalik ng probinsya bigyan natin siya ng mapayapang pamumuhay kasama ang pamilya niya,” ACT-CIS Kevin See said.
“Si Jomar ay simbolo ng mga taong naaapi lalo na ng mga matataas na tao. Gusto natin siya i-assure na hindi sila nag-iisa,” See added.
For fairness and truth’s sake, many hope and pray that justice will be served to Jomar Pajares.
