TROLL FARMS ON THE LOOSE

Over the weekend, BITAG’s Facebook account, BITAG Live, was attacked by unverified and suspicious troll Facebook accounts out of nowhere.

An overwhelming amount of comments instantly popped out over several posts of BITAG Live, specifically on the latest challenge of Ben Tulfo against Congressman Arnie Teves.

According to the Social Media Department of BITAG, they said that the attack was too obvious.

“Out of nowhere, biglang buhos ang mga negative comment na natanggap ng BITAG, iisa lang ang content nilang lahat at copy-paste pa” the team said.

“One user was commenting 10 to 20 times per post per second,” the team added.

The attack from the “troll accounts” happened last Saturday, March 19 at around 1:00 PM until 3:00 AM of March 20, Sunday.

BITAG’s social media department explained that suspicious troll accounts had the same profile picture and had the same posts on their timeline, and even came from the same province.

“Tumagal ng 15 hours yung pag-comment ng mga trolls nung Sabado, hanggang Linggo, pare-pareho lang ang kanilang mga comment” they added.

“Puro ka satsat, Bakbakan na kayo agad ni Cong!” one troll said.

In an exclusive interview with Ben Tulfo, he said that there is only one obvious reason for the attack, this is to deflect the real issue and problem faced by Jomar Pajares.

“What’s the goal of these trolls? To DEFLECT the real issue, to make it appear that it’s Ben Tulfo versus the congressman” Tulfo said.

Tulfo added that the troll’s main goal is to change and manipulate the real narrative of the incident that happened to Pajares.

This is not the first time that BITAG was attacked by troll farms, BITAG has been the center of several waves of cyber-attacks throughout its years of public service.
