Las Piñas PNP arrested on Thursday, May 26, 2022, the two suspects who were caught on a CCTV footage, attempted to abduct a 15-year-old minor along Marcos Alvares Street in Las Piñas City.
In an interview, Las Piñas PNP Chief Col. Jaime Santos said that the two suspects tried to abduct the said victim by dragging her inside a black vehicle.
“Kanina pong madaling araw sa kahabaan ng Marcos Alvares sa tapat ng isang pawnshop, na kung saan ang biktima ay isang menor de edad”, Santos said.
The victim, alias “May”, managed to flee from the suspects with the help of motorcycle riders.
“Si “May” ay naglalakad sa kahabaan ng Marcos Alvares, she was drag by the suspect sa isang sasakyan ngunit hindi ito nagtagumpay dahil si ALyas May ay nanlaban. She was able to free herself from her supposed abductors this morning”, Santos said.
“May mag nagdatangin na mga naka-motor, sila ay nagbigay ng saklolo,” he added.
Police said the suspects, who were identified through CCTV footage that went viral on social media.
The two suspects will face charges for Alleged Attempted Abduction of Minor, Violation of RA 10951 in relation with Violation of Omnibus Election Code and Illegal Possession of Explosive for carrying a hand grenade and 5 live ammunition.
“Nahaharap po sila sa kasong attempted abduction, dahil may nakuha tayong napsack na may baril, garanada, packing tape, alambre – yan ang nakuha natin dun sa first suspect”
