Police rescued a Malaysian national from a possible kidnapping in Tarlac on Wednesday.
Arrested during the incident were Carmelito Damuya De la Cruz, 58; Alexander Meyer Sumagay, 40; John Rey Perez Valderama, 26 and Obet Endrada Tobias, 40, all Filipinos. Also apprehended was Der Jien Chiw, 33, a Malaysian.
Reports reaching the PNP Command Center in Camp Crame said that a certain Malaysian national was driving his Ford SUV along Mc Arthur highway Brgy Anupul Bamban, Tarlac at around 12:30 AM on Wednesday when he was suddenly blocked by the suspect on a Toyota SUV.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspects forcibly entered the victim’s vehicle and tried to abduct the victim, however, the duty security guards of the establishment where the victim works immediately called the assistance of Bamban Municipal Police Station.
“Due to swift action of our PNP personnel, the victim was successfully rescued and the five suspects were apprehended.
