Last week, BITAG created a special investigation episode regarding the delayed payment of salary of two army reservists who were assigned to secure a Chinese National.
Alias Diego and Alvin, the army reservists that seeked help from BITAG unfolded to our program their day-to-day basis as a security escort to their assigned VIP.
Mr. Ben Tulfo subjected the two army reservists for questioning and investigation.
In a series of episodes, one problem led to another, BITAG unveiled that there are more major problems apart from the unremitted salaries of the army reservists.
An episode of this investigation even went trending on BITAG’s YouTube Channel that stirred-up conversation throughout social media platforms.
This also caught the interest of authorities from the Bureau of Immigration (BI), according to them they were interested in the identity and background of the Chinese National and the possibility of questionable operation of its business.
The two army reservists originally reported to BITAG that their VIP was linked to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator or POGO in Clark, Pampanga.
BITAG invited Dana Sandoval, Spokesperson of Bureau of Immigration to our program for the possible partnership on this issue.
During the special episode, Sandoval told Mr. Ben Tulfo that the Bureau of Immigration has been monitoring the series of investigations done by BITAG.
Sandoval told BITAG that they are particularly interested with the nature and legalities of the alleged POGO operations.
“Because kung ito po ay online gaming supposedly dpat registered ito under PAGCOR but looking at the name, this is for further verification, as face po it seems like it’s not registered,” Sandoval told BITAG.
The spokesperson added that based on initial stages of this complaint their agency is doubtful on the operation of the business.
Sandoval was able to directly ask Alyas Diego regarding the issue.
“Nakuha po natin yung statements ng complainant, dun po tayo magbe-base ng investigation, iisa-isahin natin itong mga empleyadong ito through a case build-up” Sandoval explained.
Mr. Ben Tulfo thanked Sandoval for their effort and interest in the complaints investigated by BITAG. Tulfo added that BITAG will give way to authorities of Bureau of Immigration (BI) for this special investigation.
“This is an opportunity na maka-discover tayo ng illegal aliens na maaaring nagtatago and may mga covered operations kung saan-saan” Sandoval thanked BITAG.
Before the interview ended, Sandoval revealed to BITAG the current statistics of illegal aliens in the Philippines.
“Mayroon tayong 370 plus na ready for deportation, ang hinihintay na lang natin is ang kanilang mga NBI Clearance and travel documents from their embassy ”
Apart from that number, Sandoval said that there are about 48, 000 foreign nationals that bears canceled visas
“Ang mga visa po nila kanselado na po, they have 59 days to leave the country voluntarily and if they don’t leave the country then we initiate deportation proceedings” Sandoval explained.
