It has been more than a week since BITAG aired the complaint of Reynaldo Carizo, 67 years old and a resident in Manila.
Lolo Reynaldo despite his age is still working as a magbobote to provide for his family. The senior citizen found himself in the middle of an ill-treatment after a motorist bumped his kariton while working in the streets.
The confrontation of the motorist and Lolo Reynaldo was caught on video by a concerned citizen.
“Pagtayo ko po, kwinelyuhan po ako. Pilit niya pong kinakaladkad yung kariton ko” Lolo Reynaldo told Mr. Ben tulfo during his interview.
In the video, the motorist who by then was not yet identified was very violent in addressing Lolo Reynaldo and admitted that he was drunk.
“Pinagmumura, binatukan ang matanda Kung ako nakakita ng ganyan, triple ang gagawin ko! Kapag ako nagalit – iba ho! At dun sa nananakit baka masaktan kita kapag nakita kita” Tulfo explained in his program.
Officials from the barangay, confirmed to Mr. Ben Tulfo that the motorist was identified as Ramil Calagos and was a relative of a barangay health worker.
BITAG investigators on the instructions given by Ben Tulfo himself visited Brgy 275 in Binondo, Manila. The purpose of the visit, to get more information on Mr. Calagos.
BITAG is passionate about helping elderlies who find themselves in any case of abuse.
We are also open to get Mr. Ramil Calogos’ side in the name of fair and just journalism.
THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY.
