Operatives of Philippine National Policewomen and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) arrested three human traffickers and rescued 23 victims including 4 minors in Agusan Del Norte last Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
Citing reports of Police Brigadier General Arcadio A Jamora Jr, Chief PNP Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr said the entrapment and rescue operation stemmed from information from a concerned citizen alleging that the suspects are offering underaged victims for Sex Trafficking in Persons in exchange for money.
Upon receipt of said information, the elements of Aleng Pulis PNP-WCPC-Mindanao Field Unit (WCPC-MFU) immediately conducted case build-up, validation and surveillance that resulted to the positive identification of suspects and victims offered for exploitation.
The three male perpetrators, all of legal age, were arrested and 4 minors and 19 adult victims, all females were rescued at around 7:30 PM at Orange Beach View Resort, Brgy. Manapa, Agusan Del Norte.
The victims were immediately turned-over to CSWDO-Butuan City for proper custody, assessment and evaluation.
Charges for Violation of RA 9208 as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti- Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012) and RA 7610 will be filed against the three suspects.
