“I don’t want to hold hostage the operations of the provincial government; that is why I voluntarily stepped down to resolve this matter peacefully and quickly.”
This was the statement of the beleaguered Governor of Negros Oriental Pryde Henry Teves to BITAG Multimedia Network (BMN) during his visit to the fierce investigative team of #ipaBITAGmo.
Governor Teves has confessed to BITAG Multimedia Network (BMN) that he stepped down voluntarily from his position as the chief executive of the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental.
“I could have stayed and continued to serve our people, but I decided to comply. I have no intention to defy the order of the DILG but to comply instead. This is to make sure that there is no untoward occurrence that may happen during that time,” the governor uttered.
The governor asserted that he wanted to give smooth governance to the provincial government so as not to delay their aligned projects and services intended for the people.
“Kahit kami, we are wondering kung bakit napasama ako sa away ng dalawang kandidato (Degamo), I am not part of their case,” Teves wondered.
The beleaguered governor also wondered why there is no court order attached to the directive from Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. when he asked to vacate his position.
“Nakakapagtaka lang even the time they served the order asking me to leave and vacate the governorship, wala pong court order that time. But still, I did not defy. I submitted myself in a manner way instead. Kawawa ang mga tao kung makikipagmatigasan ako,” he added.
“Kung magmamatigas ako to stay that time, of course pwede kong gawin ‘yun but I chose to make it peacefully and with an able manner to deal on it. I don’t want to hold hostage the operations of the provincial government lalo na kung masasakripisyo rito ang kapakanan ng aking mga constituents,” the governor furthered.
