PATAY ang dalawang hinihinalang miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) sa engkwentro ng 58th Infantry (Dimalulupig) Battalion sa Sitio Tapol, Brgy Kibanban, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental noong Nob. 14, Lunes.
Sa ulat ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), posibleng kasapi sa pangkat ng Platoon Falcon Sub-Regional Committee (SRC) ng NPA North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NPA-NCRMC) ang nakasagupa ng militar.
Ayon sa AFP, sampung armadong kalalakihan ang nakabarilan ng mga militar na tumagal ng sampung minuto.
Dalawang bangkay ng mga rebelde ang naabutan ng AFP nang magsagawa ng clearing operations sa encounter site.
Narekober din sa lugar ang ilang matataas na kalibre ng baril tulad ng M16 rifle, M653 rifle, cal. 22 rifle, medical tools at ilang subersibong dokumento.
Patuloy ang isinasagawang pursuit operation ng tropa ng laban sa mga rebelde.
