TULOY na ang bakbakan sa hardcourt para sa ika-anim na window ng FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers sa Pebrero 2023.
Ito ay kinumpirma kahapon, Nob. 14, ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) sa pulong balitaan ng Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA).
Ayon kay SBP Sonny Barrios, gaganapin ang huling laban ng Gilas Pilipinas sa Philippine Arena sa Bocaue, Bulacan, bago ang pinakahihintay na hard court action para sa FIBA World Cup.
“If you look back, ‘yung February 2022 window, sa Araneta Coliseum. ‘Yung nakaraan na August 29 game na fourth window, sa Mall of Asia Arena. At ito ngang window 6, sa Philippine Arena,” wika ni Barrios.
Magsisilbing paghahanda rin daw ang 6th window para mailagay sa ayos ang mga lugar na gagamitin sa FIBA World Cup sa susunod na taon.
Ang Pilipinas ang magsisilbing host para sa susunod pandaigdigang torneyo.
“Parang nag-OJT na rin yung local organizing committee pag nagho-host tayo sa iba’t ibang venue natin,” ani Barrios.
Makakalaban ng Gilas Pilipinas ang koponan ng Lebanon sa Pebrero 24, 2023, habang ang team naman ng Jordan ang makakasalpukan ng national team sa Pebrero 27.
Hawak ng Pilipinas ang 5-3 na kartada sa group E ng FIBA World Cup qualifiers matapos pataubin ng national team ang Jordan at Saudi Arabia sa katatapos na fifth window ng torneyo nitong Nobyembre.
