Lima katao ang kumpirmadong patay sa pagsabog ng iligal na pagawaan ng paputok sa GK Village Sitio Majada, Brgy. Canlubang, Calamba, kahapon, Nob. 18.
Ayon sa ulat, alas-10 ng umaga nangyari ang pagsabog hanggang sa kumalat ang apoy sa mga katabing kabahayan.
Maliban sa pagawaan ng paputok, limang kabahayan ang naabo sa sunog. Kinilala ang mga nasawi na sina Leticia Coral, 83; James Darwin Coral, 22; Ryan James Gutierrez, 18; Kenneth Buebo, 24; habang inaalam pa ang pagkakakilanlan ng isa pang biktima.
Pare-parehong empleyado ng sumabog na pagawaan ang mga nasawi.
Sugatan din sa pagsabog sina Judd Nelson Coral, Genaro Valentino, Isagani Batalla, Joel Escoton, Joseph Alcantara, at dalawang iba pa. Agad nadakip ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang may-ari ng iligal na pagawaan na nakilalang si Jude Nelson Coral.
Nakumpiska din ng mga pulis sa sasakyan ni Coral ang kahon-kahon na kwitis at iba pang gamit sa paggawa ng paputok. Wala umanong naipakitang permit o dokumento ang may-ari kaya sasampahan ito ng patong-patong na kaso.
