Balik-aksyon sa ibabaw ng lona ang angas ng Filipino boxing na si John Riel “Quadro Alas” Casimero pagkaraan ng mahigit isang taong pahinga sa boksing.
Makakaharap ni Casimero ang Japanese veteran boxer na si Ryo Akaho sa isang non-title super bantamweight bout na gaganapin sa Paradise City Hotel sa Incheon, South Korea sa darating na December 3.
Huling lumaban ang 33-anyos na si Casimero noong Agosto 2021 kung saan tinalo nito via split decision ang Cuban boxer na si Guillermo Rigondeaux para depensahan ang kanyang WBO Bantamweight title.
Makakatapat sana ni Casimero ang English professional boxer na si Paul Butler noong December 2021 para sa isang title defense match, subalit hindi natuloy.
Inilipat ang petsa ng laban sa April 2022, subalit hindi rin ito natuloy matapos lumabag ni Casimero sa alituntunin ng WBO ukol sa paggamit ng “sauna” sa pagbabawas ng timbang bago ang laban.
Dahil dito, binawi ng WBO ang bantamweight title ni Casimero noong Mayo.
Kasalukuyang may win-loss record na 31-4 si Casimero kung saan 21 dito ay via knockout victory.
Ang makakalaban naman ng Pinoy slugger ay may kartadang 39-2-2 (win-loss-draw) record.
26 na panalo ng Japanese boxer ay nakuha via knockout kasama na rito ang impresibong pag-knockout sa Filipino boxer na si Edrin Dapudong noong Setyembre.
