Umarangkada na ngayong araw ang libreng sakay ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa EDSA sa ilalim ng Service Contracting Program (SCP).
Ang Pamaskong handog ng DOTr ay magsisimula ngayong Huwebes, December 1 hanggang katapusan ng buwan.
Ayon sa anunsyo ng DOTr sa kanilang official Facebook account, ang handog na 24/7 “free ride” sa EDSA Carousel Bus ay alay ng kagawaran para maibsan ang pasakit ng mga Filipino sa walang habas na taas-presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin.
Base sa inilabas na Board Resolution no. 174 at no. 176 s. 2022 ng DOTr, aabot sa 100 Carousel bus ang libreng magsasakay ng mga pasahero mula alas-11:00 ng gabi hanggang alas-4:00 ng umaga.
Madadagdagan naman ito mula alas-4:00 ng umaga hanggang 11:00 ng gabi para mga biyaherong manggagaling ng Monumento station hanggang Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
Target ng DOTr na gawing hanggang 750 Carousel bus ang biyahe sa libreng sakay upang ma-accomodate ang dagsa ng mga commuters habang papalapit ang Christmas rush.
