Dahil sa dumaraming kaso ng “kamote riders” sa National Capital Region (NCR), binuksan na ulit ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) ang Driver’s Education Center (DEC) na layong bigyan ng tamang driving lesson at seminar ang mga kumukuha ng lisensya.
Ayon kay LTO-NCR-West Director Roque Verzosa III, unang batch ng binigyan nila ng 15-hours Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) ay ang mahigit isang dosenang kumuha ng driver’s license at mga may traffic violations.
Sinabi ni Verzosa na dumami ang natanggap nilang kaso ng reckless driving nitong mga nakaraang buwan dahil sa umano’y anomalya sa pagbibigay ng certificate ng mga driving schools kahit hindi naman dumaan sa totoong training at schooling ang mga aplikante.
Alinsunod sa bagong patakaran ng LTO, hindi pagkakalooban ng student driver license ang mga aplikanteng hindi dumadaan sa rehistradong driving school.
Dahil sa mga reklamo, ibinalik ng LTO ang 15-hour Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) upang mabigyan ng tamang training at schooling ang mga kumukuha ng driver’s license.
Pina-iimbestigahan na rin ng LTO ang mga driving schools na namemeke ng certification para mapadali ang pagkuha ng lisensya.
