Sumipot na sa pagdinig ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ngayong araw, Dec. 5, ang suspendidong hepe ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) kaugnay sa imbestigasyon sa pagpatay sa radio broadcaster/blogger na si “Percy Lapid”.
Ikinasa ng DOJ ang imbestigasyon upang tukuyin kung mayroong sapat na ebidensya para idiin sa kaso si BuCor chief Gerald Bantag.
Si Bantag at ang kanyang deputy security officer na si Ricardo Zulueta ang itinuturong salarin sa Percy Lapid killing at may kagagawan umano sa misteryosong pagpatay sa loob ng piitan sa middleman na si Jun Villamor.
Samantala, sinabi ni Bantag na nag-sumite na siya ng counter-affidavit sa Baguio City Prosecutor’s Office, pero sumipot pa rin nito sa DOJ proceedings para maghain ng karagdagang affidavit.
Sa kanyang pagharap sa media, iginiit ni Bantag na hindi siya nagtatago at lalong hindi niya iniiwasan ang pagdinig ng DOJ.
Depensa ni Bantag, hindi siya sumipot sa unang pagdinig ng DOJ noong November 23 dahil may mali sa detalye ng kanyang middle name na nakasulat sa subpoena.
Wala pang anunsyo si Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla kung kelan maglalabas ng resolution sa kaso ni Bantag.
