Huli sa entrapment operation ang isang empleyado ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa Iloilo na nahuling suma-sideline sa pagiging “fixer”.
Patago umanong tumatanggap ng transaksyon sa renewal ng rehistro hanggang sa pagpapa-lisensya ang 61 years old na empleyado ng LTO Guimbal Extension Office sa Iloilo.
Reklamo ng mga kliyente, hindi raw pino-proseso ng empleyado ang kanilang mga transaksyon gayong nakapagbayad na sila sa napagkasunduang halaga.
Kinukuha lang daw ang kanilang pera at hindi na itinuloy ang pagproseso.
Kaya naman agad nagsagawa ng entrapment operation ang Guimbal Municipal Police Station kung saan natimbog ang iligal na gawain ng empleyado.
Dahil dito nagbabala si LTO Chief Asec. Jay Art Tugade sa lahat ng kawani at empleyado ng LTO na nagbabalak dungisan ang kanilang trabaho.
“As I have said repeatedly, we will not stop until we have eliminated fixers, which is among the roots of corruption in the agency, at any of the LTO offices nationwide. Our objective is to finally get rid of them once and for all,” ani Tugade.
Nasa kustodiya ng Guimbal Municipal Police Station ang nahuling suspek at sasampahan ito ng reklamo ng paglabag sa Republic Act 11032 o “Ease of Doing Business Law”.
“These unscrupulous individuals have no place in an agency such as the LTO because they have given us a bad name for the longest time. Let this be a warning: their days are numbered,” babala ni Tugade.
