Lumobo na sa P13.64 trillion ang utang ng Pilipinas dahil sa patuloy na pangungutang ng bansa mula sa local at foreign lenders, ayon sa Kawanihan ng Ingatang-Bayan.
Kinumpirma ng ahensya sa kanilang press release ngayong Miyerkules, Dec. 7, na nadagdagan ng 0.92% o katumbas ng P123.92 billion ang total debt portfolio ng Pilipinas noong Oktubre.
Mula sa dating P13.51 trillion na utang ng Pilipinas noong September 2022, umakyat ito sa P13.64 trillion noong Oktubre.
Sa kabuuan, simula 2022 nasa 16.31% na ang itinaas ng utang ng bansa o katumbas nito ng P1.91 trillion, ayon sa ahensya.
Batay sa datos ng Bureau of Treasury, nasa P9.36 trillion o 68.58% ng utang ng Pilipinas ay hiniram sa local lenders, habang P4.29 trillion naman ang utang ng bansa sa ibang bansa.
“For October, the increment to domestic debt was primarily due to the net issuance of government securities amounting to P55.83 billion while local currency appreciation against the US dollar trimmed P1.25 billion,” ayon sa pahayag ng ahensya.
Paliwanag ng ahensya, may kinalaman ang pagbagsak ng piso kontra dolyar sa pagtaas ng halaga ng utang ng bansa.
“This was partly offset by the favorable net impact of both local- and third-currency fluctuations against the USD amounting to P43.07 billion and P6.30 billion, respectively.”
Pero sa kabila nito, wala raw dapat ikabahala dahil may mga ginagawang pamamaraan ang pamahalaan para makabawi ang pananalapi ng bansa mula sa krisis na dulot ng pandemya.
