Kasagsagan ang kaliwa’t kanang Christmas parties, pagtitipon, salo-salo at syempre may inuman din, kaya naman ang Department of Health (DOH) may paalala sa mga party goers.
Sa abiso ng Department of Health-Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD), nagbabala si Regional Director Gloria Balboa na dapat maghinay-hinay sa pagkain ng matatabang putahe sa mga handaan.
Kapag hindi maiwasan ang paglantak sa mga ma-cholesterol na putahe, payo ni Balboa na dapat balansehin ang diet sa pamamagitan ng pagkain ng gulay at prutas.
Una na ring nagbabala ang DOH laban sa masebo at mga unhealthy foods na kadalasang may salo-salo rin ng alcohol beverages o pag-inom ng alak.
Ayon kay DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, hindi bawal ang pagkain ng masasarap na putahe pero hindi dapat sumobra sa limitasyon.
Kadalasan umanong tumataas ang kaso ng high blood at minsan nauuwi sa stroke dahil sa pagtaas ng altapresyon at cholesterol level ng katawan.
Bukod kasi aniya sa kaliwa’t kanang handaan at party-party ngayong linggo, madadagdagan pa ito ng fat at cholesterol loading pagsapit naman ng Pasko at Bagong Taon.
“Be responsible at kung hindi naman kailangan kumain ng matataba, please don’t do it. Alalahanin po natin na ang Kapaskuhan ay para tayo ay magsama-sama at magsaya. Just do it in moderation yung pag-inom ng alak at pagkain ng matataba,” paalala ni Vergeire.
