Niyanig kaninang madaling araw ng magnitude 5.0 na lindol ang lalawigan ng Lanao Del Sur at naramdaman din ito sa ilang bahagi ng Mindanao.
Sa inilabas na earthquake information no.2 ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), naitala ang epicenter o sentro ng lindol sa layong pitong kilometro hilagang-silangan ng Kalilangan, Bukidnon.
Unang iniulat ng Phivolcs na magnitude 5.2 ang lakas ng pagyanig, pero ibinaba ito sa magnitude 5.0 kalaunan.
Nangyari ang paglindol bandang alas-5:44 ng umaga (Dec. 20) at may kalakasan ang naranasang pagyanig dahil tatlong kilometro lamang ang babaw ng pag-uga mula sa lupa.
Naitala ang Instrumental Intensity IV sa Kalilangan, Bukidnon; Intensity III sa Talakag, Bukidnon; Cagayan de Oro City at Misamis Oriental; at Intensity sa Malaybalay, Bukidnon; Kidapawan City at Cotabato.
Bagama’t tectonic ang origin o sanhi ng lindol, nagbabala ang Phivolcs ng serye ng aftershocks.
As of 9:31 ng umaga (Dec. 20), may naitalang tatlong aftershocks ang lindol sa hilagang kanluran ng Kalilangan, Bukidnon.
