Ni-reject ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang ilang probisyon o detalye ng nilagdaang P5.268 trillion national budget ng gobyerno para sa Fiscal Year (FY) 2023.
Ayon sa ulat ng state-run radio network na Radyo Pilipinas, kasama sa na-veto ng Pangulo ang Special Provision No. 1 o ang “Use of Income” ng National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC).
Paliwanag ng punong ehekutibo, hindi awtorisado ang NLRC na gamitin ang income nito alinsunod sa umiiral na batas.
Hindi rin lumusot sa Pangulo ang Special Provision No. 4 kung saan nakasaad ang pagkakaroon ng revolving fund para sa Office of the Secretary ng Department of Education (DepEd) para pondohan ang “DepEd TV”.
Giit ng Pangulo, hindi awtorisadong magkaroon ng revolving fund ang DepEd para sa pagpapatakbo ng television shows.
Hinarang din ang Special Provision No. 4 para sa “Branding Campaign Program” ng Department of Tourism (DOT) para limitahan ang functions ng Executive Branch para ipatupad ang RA No. 9593 o Ang Tourism Act of 2009.
Ipinaliwanag ng Pangulo na base sa RA No. 9593, bahagi ng mandato ng DOT na magplano, maglatag ng programa, at magsilbing implementing and regulatory agency para sa promosyon ng tourism industry.
Nilagdaan ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang 2023 General Appropriation Act (GAA) noong Disyembre 16, 2022.
