Pinaboran ng Korean Boxing Commission ang apela ng Games and Amusement Board (GAB) na irehistro ang panalo ni John Riel “Quadro Alas” Casimero via knockout victory laban kay Ryo Akaho ng Japan.
Sumulat si Akaho sa Korean Boxing Members Commission (KBM) at tinanggap ang pagkatalo nito kay Casimero.
Sinabi ng Japanese boxer na napuruhan na siya ni Casimero bago pa man tumama ang wild punch sa kanyang batok.
“Mr. Akaho said that the damage he received was not due to the impact of the punch hit the back of his head,” pahayag ni KBM chairman John Hwang sa isang liham na ipinadala sa GAB.
“He took a break to fight again, but he gave up because he couldn’t, and he admitted that it was a KO defeat.“
Idineklarang “no contest” ang bakbakang Casimero at Akaho noong Disyembre 3 sa Incheon, South Korea matapos itigil ang laban sa second round dahil sa reklamo ng Japanese boxer.
Naghain ng apela ang GAB sa KBM para pag-aralan ang naging sequence ng laban.
“After its review of the fight and the evidence presented to it, KBM has decided to declare a Casimero win by KO, thereby reaffirming KBM’s commitment to sportsmanship and fair play,” ayon sa GAB.
“GAB commends KBM chairman John Hwang and his team for their decisive action and stellar leadership.“
Dahil sa desisyon ng Korean Boxing Commission, umarangkada na sa 32 wins, 4 loss at 22 KO ang record ni Casimero.
“Congratulations sa ating mga Pilipino, salamat sa mga dasal niyo. Thank you Lord,” pahayag ni Casimero sa kanyang Facebook post.
