Ang malamig na simoy ng hangin at maulap na papawirin ay dulot ng Northeast Monsoon o hanging habagat na umiiral sa halos kabuuan ng bansa.
Nakataas pa rin ang banta ng flashflood at landslides lalo na sa malaking bahagi ng Mindanao at Visayas dahil sa madalas na panaka-nakang pag-ulan.
