Posibleng tumaas pa ang kaso ng trangkaso o ‘flu’ habang kasagsagan ng lamig ngayong Disyembre hanggang Pebrero sa susunod na taon, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).
Ayon kay DOH officer-in-charge Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire, tumaas ng 45 porsiyento ang kaso ng trangkaso sa bansa ngayong 2022 kumpara noong nakaraang taon.
Simula Enero hanggang Disyembre 3, 2022, nakapagtala ang DOH ng 114,278 flu-like cases. Mas mataas ito ng 35,728 kumpara sa naitalang 78,550 kaso ng trangkaso noong January 1 hanggang Dec. 3, 2021
Paliwanag ni Vergeire, tumataas talaga ang kaso ng trangkaso tuwing Nobyembre hanggang Disyembre dahil sa pagbabago ng panahon dulot ng Northeast Monsoon o hanging amihan.
Pinag-iingat ng DOH ang publiko sa trangkaso dahil halos magkapareho ang sintomas nito sa kinatatakutang Covid-19.
Payo ni Vergeire, sakaling makaranas ng trangkaso o lagnat, mas mainam kung magpatingin sa doktor o sumailalim sa swab testing upang makasigurong hindi ito sanhi ng Covid-19 virus.
