Base sa Daily Weather Forecast ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), isang namumuong sama ng panahon o low pressure area (LPA) ang umiiral sa Mindanao.
As of 3:00 pm (Dec. 27), huling namataan ang LPA sa layong 735 kilometro Silangan ng Surigao City.
Magdadala ito ng masungit na panahon sa Palawan, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, CARAGA at Davao Region.
Ayon sa weather bureau, nakataas sa mga lugar na ito ang posibilidad ng flashflood o pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa dahil sa mahina hanggang sa malalakas na pag-ulan.
Ang Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Quezon, Oriental Mindoro at Bicol Region naman ay makararanas ng paminsan-minsang pag-ambon at pag-ulan dahil sa umiiral na Northeast Monsoon o hanging amihan.
Ang Metro Manila ay bahagyang maulap ang papawirin at may minsanang pag-ambon dahil din sa amihan.
Samantala, ang nalalabing bahagi ng bansa ay magiging maulap ang papawirin na may mahina hanggang sa may kalakasang pag-ulan din dahil naman sa epekto ng localized thunderstorm.
