Anim katao ang kumpirmadong patay kabilang ang tatlong paslit sa naganap na sunog sa Arlegui Street sa Quiapo, Maynila, dalawang araw bago ang salubong sa Bagong Taon.
Ayon sa ulat ng Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), nagsimula ang sunog sa isang residential house bandang alas-2:34 kaninang madaling araw, Dec. 29.
Umabot sa ikatlong alarma ang sunog bago ito idineklarang fire under control dakong alas-4:15 ng umaga.
Dahil may kakiputan ang eskinita bago marating ang nasusunog na bahay, tuluyan lamang naapula ang sunog bandang alas-8:10 ng umaga ayon sa BFP.
Unang nakuha ang labi ng dalawang biktima at sumunod ang apat na bangkay kabilang ang tatlong bata na tinatayang nasa edad pito hanggang labindalawa.
Sa inisyal na ulat ng BFP, mabilis kumalat ang apoy dahil gawa sa light materials ang mga kabahayan na natupok ng apoy.
Pitong bahay ang naabo sa sunog at hindi bababa sa apat katao ang sugatan.
Patuloy na inaalam ng mga awtoridad ang naging sanhi ng sunog.
