Ito ang mensahe ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa sambayanang Pilipino sa pagdiriwang ng ika-126 taong anibersaryo ng kamatayan ngayong araw, Disyembre 30, ng Pambansang Bayani ng Pilipinas na si Gat. Jose P. Rizal.
Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Marcos ang pag-alala at pagpupugay sa kadakilaan at martyrdom ni Rizal sa isang seremonya sa dambana ng Pambansang Bayani sa Luneta Park sa Lungsod ng Maynila.
Nag-alay din ng flag raising ceremony ang Unang Pamilya sa pangunguna ni Pangulong Marcos, First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos at mga anak na sina Ilocos Norte Rep. Sandro Marcos, Joseph Simon, at William Vincent Marcos.
Maliban sa seremonya sa Rizal Park, nagsagawa rin ng simultaneous rites ang gobyerno sa Museo ni Jose Rizal sa Calamba Laguna; Museo ni Jose Rizal sa Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte; at iba’t ibang local government units (LGUs).
Sa mensahe ni Pangulong Marcos, hinimok nito ang sambayanang Filipino na tularan at gawing salamin ang mga akda at sinimulang pakikibaka ni Gat. Jose Rizal para makamit ang kasarinlan at lubusang paglaya ng bansa mula sa mga mananakop na Espanyol.
“Despite the threat of persecution, Rizal helped enlighten Filipinos about the injustice, corruption and oppression they suffered at the hands of their colonizers,” anang Pangulo.
