Isang malakas na lindol ang tumama kaninang umaga sa Surigao del Sur at iba pang bahagi ng hilagang-silangan ng Mindanao, ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Nasukat ang lakas ng lindol sa magnitude 5.1 at tumama ang epicenter nito sa layong 82 kilometro hilagang-silangan ng bayan ng Hinatuan, dakong alas-6:09 ng umaga ngayong Martes, Enero 3.
Naramdaman ang Intensity III sa bayan ng Hinatuan at Lingig.
Naitala naman ang instrumental Intensities sa Bislig at iba pang lugar sa Surigao Del Sur.
Tectonic ang origin ng lindol at isang kilometro lamang ang babaw nito kaya may kalakasan ang naramdamang paglindol.
Sa kabila nito walang naitalang casualty at mga nasirang ari-arian.
