Matapos ang matagumpay na exhibition match ni Manny Pacquiao sa South Korean martial artist noong Disyembre, isang Japanese boxer naman ang tinatarget ngayon ng kampo ng Pambansang Kamao para sa ikinakasang ‘boxing showdown’ ngayong taon.
Isang kontrata ang pinirmahan ni Pacquiao sa Japanese mixed martial arts promotions na Rizin para sa isang exhibition fight.
Hindi pa pinangalanan ng Rizin ang Japanese fighter na makakasagupa ni Pacquiao sa ibabaw ng lona.
“I’m so happy to feel this great energy of fighting this Rizin New Year’s event,” pahayag ni Pacquiao sa isang in-ring presentation na ginanap sa Saitama Super Arena noong Disyembre 31.
Ayon sa abiso ng Public Information ng team Pacquiao, Pina-plantsa na rin umano ang petsa at location ng pagdadausan ng laban.
“I have agreed with Rizin, that date will soon be announced and also my opponent that Rizin will choose. I’m open and excited to fight a Japanese fighter,” ani Pacquiao.
Ang Rizin promotion ang nag-arrange din noon ng exhibition match para sa undefeated American boxer na si Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. kontra sa Japanese kickboxer na si Tenshin Nasukawa noong 2018.
Matatandaan na ibinunyag sa BITAG Media Digital ng source mula sa kampo ni Pacman ang pina-plantsang bakbakan ni Pacquiao at MMA star na si Conor McGregor o ang pinaka-aabangang Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch.
Huling sumabak si Pacman sa boksing noong nakaraang buwan kung saan pinaglaruan lamang ang nakasuntukang South Korean martial artist at Youtuber na si DK Yoo.
Si Pacman ay may kartadang 62-8-2 (win-loss-draw) record bago magretiro sa mundo ng professional boxing noong Agosto 2021.
