Kumikilos pa-kanluran ang binabantayang low pressure area (LPA) o sama ng panahon ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) na nasa katubigan ng Palawan.
Sa inilabas na Weather Forecast ng Pagasa nitong Huwebes , January 5 ng hapon, ang LPA ay huling namataan sa layong 410 kilometro kanluran timog-kanluran ng Coron.
Ayon sa weather bureau, bagama’t wala nang direktang epekto ang LPA, uulanin pa rin ang malaking bahagi ng bansa dahil pag-i-ibayuhin nito ang umiiral na Shear Line at Northeast Monsoon o hanging amihan.
Nalusaw na rin ang LPA na namataan kahapon sa silangang bahagi ng Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
Ang Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, at Visayas ay uulanin pa rin dulot ng shear line o pagsasalubong ng malamig at mainit na hangin sa himpapawid.
Habang ang Mindanao naman ay makararanas ng kalat-kalat hanggang sa malawakang pag-ulan dahil sa epekto ng Localized Thunderstorm.
Magiging panaka-naka lamang ang pag-ambon at ulan sa Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) at Ilocos Region dahil sa umiiral na hanging amihan.
Sa mga lugar na umiiral ang shear line at localized thunderstorm, nakataas pa rin ang babala ng posibleng flashflood at pagguho ng lupa.
