Hindi maawat ang bulusok ng presyo ng mga bilihin sa bansa base sa monitoring ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Katunayan, lalo pang umakyat sa 14-year record high ang inflation rate sa bansa noong huling buwan ng 2022, ayon sa data ng PSA na inilabas kahapon, January 5, 2023.
Ayon sa PSA, pumalo sa 8.1% ang itinaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin at serbisyo noong Disyembre, mas mataas ito sa naitalang taas-presyo noong Nobyembre.
Sa pagsusuri ng PSA, lagpas sa doble ang itinaas ng inflation rate noong 2022 kumpara noong 2021.
Ang naitalang inflation rate noong Nobyembre at Disyembre ng 2022 ay halos mapantayan ang naitalang record high na 9.1% inflation noong November 2008.
Ayon sa Chief National Statistician ng PSA na si Claire Dennis Mapa, ang pagbulusok ng taas-presyo ng bilihin nitong 2022 ay dahil sa pagmahal ng mga food at non-alcoholic beverages.
Mas mabilis aniya ang pagmahal ng mga pagkain nitong mga nakalipas na buwan tulad ng gulay, prutas at bigas.
Kalimitang iniinda ng mga Pinoy ang mataas na presyo ng saging, asukal, bigas at ang mala-gintong presyo ng sibuyas.
