Target ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na tapusin sa susunod na buwan ang imprenta sa 91 milyong balota na gagamitin para sa 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
Ayon kay Comelec chairman George Garcia, sinisikap nilang isaayos ang lahat ng paghahanda para sa barangay elections.
Batay sa nilagdaang batas ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., itinakda ang bagong iskedyul ng BSKE sa huling Lunes ng Oktubre ngayong taon.
Pero giit ni Garcia, nakahanda rin ang komisyon sakaling ipag-utos ng Korte Suprema na agahan ang pagdaraos ng halalan.
“Almost complete na sa lahat ng mga materyales. Ang mga balota ipi-print namin 91 million ballots plus ‘yung dagdag na mga balota na result ng registration na bago hanggang second week ng February,” pahayag ni Garcia sa Laging Handa Public Briefing ngayong Biyernes, Jan. 6.
Sinabi ni Garcia na inihanda na rin lahat ni Comelec Commissioner Rey Bula ang mga materyales at gagamiting paraphernalia para sa 2023 barangay at SK elections.
Si Bula ang naatasang commissioner-in-charge para sa nakatakdang halalan.
