Nasa mahigit 230,000 indibidwal na ang apektado ng pagsusungit ng panahon dulot ng low pressure area (LPA) sa Visayas at Mindanao, base sa monitoring ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Sa ulat ng DSWD Region 8, umakyat na sa 53,661 pamilya o katumbas ng 213,737 pamilya ang apektado ng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Eastern Visayas.
Nakapagpadala na rin ang DSWD ng halos 900 family food packs sa Gandara, Samar bilang paunang tulong para sa mga binahang residente.
Isinailalim na sa state of calamity ang Gandara at inihahanda na umano ang karagdagang family food packs na ipamimigay sa mga biktima ng baha.
Bukod sa Gandara, apektado rin ang ilang bayan sa Eastern Visayas tulad ng Sulat, Eastern Samar at Jipapad, Eastern Samar.
Samantala, sa ulat ng state-run radio station na Radyo Pilipinas, umabot na sa 4,572 pamilya o katumbas ng 22,675 na indibidwal ang apektado ng matinding pag-ulan at pagbaha sa Zamboanga Peninsula at Basilan.
(As of January 11) Nasa 2,675 pamilya na umano ang inilikas at pansamantalang nanunuluyan sa 21 evacuation sites, habang 1,897 pamilya ang nakituloy sa mga kaanak.
Ayon sa DSWD, nakahanda na ang nasa mahigit 18,000 stockpile ng family food packs at 14,120 packs ng non-food items kabilang ang hygiene kits, family kits, sleeping kits at modular tents na ipamimigay sa mga sinalanta ng LPA.
