Ayon sa implementing rules and regulations (IRR) ng Republic Act 11934 o ang SIM Card Registration Act, ang mga unregistered SIM cards ay pansamantalang putol ang linya hangga’t hindi ito nairerehistro.
Simula Disyembre 27,2022 hanggang April 26, 2023 ang duration o takdang panahon para magparehistro ng mobile number.
Pero base sa IRR ng NTC, bibigyan pa ng hanggang 120-days o apat na buwang palugit ang SIM card registration kapag lumagpas na ito sa 180-days duration.
Maaaring makulong ng hanggang dalawang taon at multang P300,000 ang mga subscribers na magbibigay ng pekeng impormasyon sa NTC.
Hanggang anim na taon na kulong naman at multang P300,000 ang parusa sa sa mga magbebenta, magnanakaw o maglilipat ng SIM card sa ibang tao.
As of Jan. 10, nasa 17.1 milyon na ang mga SIM cards na nakarehistro batay sa pinakahuling tala ng NTC.
Katumbas ito ng 10.13% ng tinatayang 169 milyong telco subscribers sa buong bansa.
Sa bilang na ito – 8,037,862 ang nakarehistro sa Smart Communications Inc.; 7,556,037 sa Globe Telecom Inc.; at 1,522,011 ang nakarehistrong DITO Telecommunity subscribers.
