Aprubado na ng Metro Manila mayors ang final draft ng single ticketing system na ipapatupad sa National Capital Region (NCR).
Kahapon, Jan 19, nagpulong ang Metro Manila Council (MMC), Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA) at Land Transportation Office (LTO) upang plantsahin ang ilang detalye at guidelines ng traffic code. Layunin ng mga alkalde na gawing uniform at standard na ang traffic penalties at violations sa buong rehiyon sa pamamagitan ng unified ordinance violation receipt (UOVR) at upang wala nang lalabas na mga fake ticket.
Sa ilalim ng sistemang ito, iisa na lamang ang halagang babayaran ng mga traffic violator sa mga paglabag tulad ng illegal parking at number coding.
Papayagan na rin magbayad online ang mga mahuhuling motorista na lumabag sa No Contact Apprehension (NCAP) at hindi na kukumpiskahin ang kanilang lisensya.
Ayon kay MMC President San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, walang naging problema ang 17 na mga mayor sa pagpapatupad ng single ticketing system.
“We want to implement standardized violation citations and fines across all LGUs (local government units) and implementing agencies in Metro Manila and make things easier for our motorists through this system,” wika ni Zamora.
Ang tanging tanong lang ng alkalde ay kung paano ang magiging integrasyon ng mga datus sa ipapatupad na sistema.
“How will the integration process be? Do the LGUs need to pay to procure the IT (information technology) equipment and who will handle the actual integration of data?”
Sinagot naman ito ni MMDA Chairman Romando Artes na nagsabing ang kanilang ahensiya ang maglalaan ng pondo para sa IT system at mga kagamitan na kakailanganin.
Inaasahang magsisimula ang implementasyon ng polisiyang ito sa first quarter ng taon.
