Nauna nang isiniwalat ni Salceda noong Biyernes na ang pitong kartel ang may ari ng 50 containers ng sibuyas na kasalukuyang nakatengga sa Subic.
“There are seven (cartels) but I don’t want (to discuss them), but of course we are doing our own research. You go to Subic (Freeport), I can tell you there are about 50 containers filled with onions there,” ayon kay Salceda.
“I also received top-level intelligence from key informants, whose inputs I will release at the proper time,” dagdag pa ng chairman ng House Committee on Ways and Means.
Ayon kay Salceda, dapat lang simulan na ang pag-iimbestiga ng kongreso, in aid of legislation dahil naaapektuhan na ang ekonomiya.
Hindi naman dumalo sa isinagawang hearing kahapon, Enero 23 ang hepe ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) na si Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz na nasa official travel.
