Ang 40-anyos na si Donaire at Moloney, 32, ang dalawang napili ng WBC bilang top contenders para sa titulo sa isang ginanap na pagtitipon noong Nobyembre nakaraang taon.
Si Moloney ang kasalukuyang nangunguna sa rankings ng 118 lbs division ng WBC na may kartadang 25 wins, 2 losses at 19 knockouts. Pumapangalawa naman sa kanya si Donaire na may record na 42-7, 28 KOs.
Matatandaang sinuko kamakailan ni Japanese boxing superstar Naoya Inoue ang kanyang WBC title upang umaakyat sa 122 lbs super bantamweight division.
Base sa report, ang dalawang kampo ay bibigyan ng hanggang Feb. 17 upang plantsahin ang laban at gayundin ang maiwasan ang purse bid hearing.
