Pinanindigan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang kanyang pagiging kalihim ng Kagawaran ng Agrikultura upang mas mapadali ang pagpapatupad ng mga reporma.
Ito ay sa kabila ng panawagan ng mga mambabatas kay Marcos na magtalaga ng permanenteng kalihim na magagawang tutukan ang mga problemang kinakaharap ngayon ng sektor ng Agrikultura.
“For me sa DA, there really are things that I can do if there was a secretary and he or she did it… magagawa pero matagal, madaming diskusyon,” wika ni Marcos sa isang press interview noong Lunes.
Bilang Pangulo ng bansa, mas mapapabilis aniya ang mga plano at desisyon na gagawin nang hindi na dumadaan pa sa mga pakiusap tulad ng isang regular na sekretarya.
“The President they cannot say no to. And ‘pag hindi nila ginawa ‘yung utos ko, puwede kong sitahin. Iyong secretary… may pakiusap pa,” ani nito.
“But generally speaking, if the President asked you to do something, they’ll do it. If there’s somebody else to it, they may do it – they’ll probably do it, but they may not. So we want to take that wiggle room out of that system,” dagdag niya.
Sa isang panayam sa Switzerland kamakailan, sinabi naman ni Marcos na magtatalaga siya ng isang permanenteng sekretarya na eksperto sa larangan ng agrikultura.
Ayon kay Marcos, ang susunod na magiging kalihim ay dapat malawak ang kaalaman, sapagkat aniya, ang agrikultura ay nakapa komplikadong sektor.
