Madaling nalampasan ng Olympic pole vaulter ang 5.77m subalit bigo naman ito sa 5.82m sa kanyang tatlong subok.
Sa simula ay tila nahirapan si Obiena na lundagin ang 5.50m matapos nitong laktawan ang 5.30m at 5.40m.
Subalit agad naman itong bumawi sa 5.67m at 5.77m na agad niyang nalukso sa unang subok.
Pumangalawa si Obiena sa two-time world champion na si Sam Kendricks ng Amerika na madaling nalampasan ang naturang height kung saan huling nabigo si Obiena.
Nakuha naman ni Ben Broeders ng Belgium ang bronze medal sa height clearance na 5.72m.
Nakatakdang muling lumundag si Obiena sa darating na 32nd South East Asian Games sa Cambodia sa Mayo. Kabilang din dito ang iba pang mga malalaking torneyo tulad ng Asian Games at World Athletic Championships.
