Ito ang naging pahayag ni Army Chief LtGen. Romeo Brawner Jr. sa agarang pagsibak sa dating Presidential Security Group (PSG) chief Brigadier General Jesus Durante III.
Si Durante ang itinuturo umanong “mastermind” sa pagpatay kay Yvonette “Yvonne” Chua Plaza, isang negosyante at modelong nakabase sa Davao noong December 29, 2022 sa tapat ng kanyang inuupahan bahay.
Sa isinagawang pulong balitaan ng Philippine National Police Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) sa pangunguna ni PMaj. Eudisan Gultiano, “crime of passion” ang nakikitang nilang motibo sa krimen.
Base ito sa mga nakalap na ebidensya ng mga pulis sa laptop ng biktima kung saan nakapaloob ang mga larawan at mensahe ni Durante kay Plaza.
“We were able to recover the Macbook from the house of the victim containing photos and email messages of Gen. Durante,” sabi ni PMaj. Gultiano.
Nakumpirma din ng mga pulis ang relasyon nina Plaza at Durante sa pamamagitan ng kanilang palitan ng mensahe.
“Based on the testimony of the witnesses, there were instances that Durante got jealous but we are looking into other factors that led into this senseless killing,” ayon kayPolice Regional Office-Davao Director, Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo, Jr.
Isinapubliko din ang mga pangalan ng pitong sundalong sangkot na sina Colonel Michael Licyayo, Staff Sergeant Gilbert Plaza, Sergeant Delfin Sielsa, Corporal Erien Catiero, Private 1st Class Rolly Cabal at Private 1st Class Romart Longgasid.
Agad din silang na-relieved sa kanilang mga pwesto.
Kinasuhan din ang iba pang sangkot na sina Noel Jabitan isang civilian, isang alyas “Junior” at isang “Master Surgeant” na escort ni Durante na kinasuhan naman ng Obstruction of Justice.
