Nasungkit ni Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena ang kanyang unang gintong medalya sa kanyang kampanya sa indoor season ngayon taon matapos nitong idomina ang Perche en Or na ginanap sa Rouibax, France nitong linggo, Jan. 29.
Namayagpag sa unang puwesto ang 27-anyos na si Obiena kung saan madaling nitong nalundagan ang 5.82 meters.
Sinubukan ni Obiena na lampasan ang 5.90m subalit ito ay nabigo sa kanyang tatlong subok.
Pumangalawa sa Filipino Olympian si Jie Yao ng China na may record na 5.75m na sinundan naman ng French pole vaulter na si Ethan Cormont, 5.65m.
Ito ang ikalawang medalya ni Obiena sa kanyang kampanya sa indoor season ngayon taon matapos itong magkamit ng silver sa ginanap na International Springer Meeting sa Cottbus,Germany noong nakaraang linggo.
