Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. ang 5-year Philippine Development Plan (PDP) na magsisilbing recovery roadmap ng bansa.
Base sa Executive Order 14, layunin ng pamahalaan na maipatupad ang second medium-term plan upang maibalik ang bansa sa high-growth trajectory. Ang PDP ay ipapatupad mula taong 2023 hanggang taong 2028. Ito ang magsisilbing roadmap ng bansa sa pagbalangkas ng mga ipatutupad na hakbang ng administrasyon para patatagin at pasiglahin ang ekonomiya at maiangat ang kalidad ng buhay ng mga Pilipino.
Nag-angkla din ito sa “AmBisyon Natin 2040”, isang long term vision para sa sambayanang Pilipino na maging maunlad at maihanay ang Pilipinas bilang middle class society.
Prayoridad ng PDP sa 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda ang makapaglikha ng mas maraming trabaho at mabawasan ang kahirapan habang na sinosolusyunanang mga problema dulot ng pandemya.
Naniniwala si Marcos na maiaangat ng PDP ang Pilipinas bilang upper income country sa taong 2025.
“These are truly bold plans but I have the confidence in the minds of those who will become our partners in realizing this vision contained in this document and faith in the capacity of our people. We can talk about economic policies and obscure numbers and data as long as we want to. But it is the life of the ordinary Filipino, more than just the numbers and the realm of data and statistics. It is something that is deeply personal to all of us. It is something that we know requires action,” pahayag ni Marcos.
Binigyang-diin din ng Pangulo na magkakaroon ng ibayong pagtutulungan sa pagitan ng ng pamahalaan at ng mga pribadong sektor.
Ang PDP 2023-2028 ay inaprubahan ng National Economic and Development Authority noong Disyembre 16, 2022 kasunod ng mga pagpupulong ng Cabinet-level at technical inter-agency at stakeholders consultation.
