Hindi na palalawigin pa ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) ang araw ng pagpaparehistro ng mga botante para sa Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections sa Oktubre 2023.
Ang pagpapatala ng mga bontate ay nagsimula noong Dec. 12 nakaraang taon at magtatapos ngayong araw, Jan. 31.
“Nire-remind po natin sa ating mga kababayan na ngayon po ang huling araw ng voter reigstration. Walang extension sa kahit anong parte ng ating bansa.,” ani COMELEC chairman George Erwin Garcia.
Sa dami ng taong dadagsa, paglilinaw naman ni Garcia na mapapaunlakan pa rin ang mga botante basta ito ay pumila bago ang cut-off period.
“Basta nakapila, pupwede pa pong magparehistro as long as dumating sila bago matapos ‘yung oras po na dapat magsasara ang registration,” dagdag pa ni Garcia.
Inaasahan ngayon ng COMELEC ang pagdumog ng mas maraming tao kung saan inaasahang magtatala ng 1.5 hanggang 2 milyon bagong bontante sa pagtatapos ng voters registration ngayong araw.
