Bilib ang mga Japanese employers sa galing ng ating mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW), ito ang pahayag ni Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople nang dumalo siya sa consultation meeting kasama ang mahigit 80 Japanese employers sa Osaka, Japan.
“The general sentiment among Japanese employers was that Filipino workers brightened up their workplaces and were highly reliable and trainable,” ayon sa kalihim.
Dahil dito, hiling ng mga karamihang Japanese employers na bigyan pa sila ng mas maraming Pinoy skilled workers.
Sinabi ni Ople na magbubukas sila ng isang Japan desk sa Office of the Secretary upang mabilis na masubaybayan ang mga pangangailangan ng mga Japanese employer at Filipino trainees.
“We want to build stronger relations with Japanese employers and the Japanese government so that the Philippines can be the number one source of skilled workers in Japan,” ani Ople.
Ang nakikitang hamon lang daw ng mga OFWs ay ang language proficiency test kung saan kinakailangan nila na dumaan sa 6-months intensive training on Japanese basic language upang makapag trabaho sa Japan.
“We will look into these bottlenecks and obstacles and try to untangle them one by one. Japan has proven to be a reliable partner in overseas employment,” pahayag ni Ople.
