Pansamantalang pinahinto ng Department of Migrant Workers ang pagpoproseso ng mga aplikasyon ng first-time Filipino domestic helpers sa Kuwait.
Ayon kay Department of Migrant Workers Undersecretary Hans Leo Cacdac, ikinasa nila ang partial deployment ban habang pinalalakas nila ang monitoring, reporting, at response mechanism upang tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).
Maapektuhan ng ban ang aplikasyon ng 47,099 mga domestic helpers na unang beses pupunta sa Kuwait.
“Nakikita natin na sila ang pinaka-vulnerable o potential na mahirapan sa adjustment pagdating sa Kuwait kaya pinagkaka-ingatan natin ang kapakanan nila,” saad ni Cacdac.
Bukod dito, magsasagawa ang DMW ng mas maraming information at orientation campaigns o seminars para sa OFWs at mga employers sa Kuwait.
