Sasailalim ang mga tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa isang law enforcement course na pangungunahan ng US Department of State, ayon kay BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
Nakatakdang magsanay ang mga ahente ng BI wardens facility (BIWF) at fugitive search unit (FSU) patungkol sa control tactics familiarization course na isasagawa ng US Marshal Service.
“This capacity-building training is very timely, as it is with our priority area of improving the skills of our personnel, as well as upgrading security in our facility,” wika ni Tansingco.
Ang nasabing pagsasanay ay gaganapin sa Pebrero 21 at 22 kung saan lalahukan ito ng labing apat na empleyado ng ahensiya.
Kasabay ng pagpapasalamat ni Tansingco, umaasa rin ito na magpapatuloy ang pakikipagtulungan ng US sa bansa.
Matatandaang nagpatupad si Tansingco ng malakawang pagsasaayos sa BIWF nito lamang buwan kung saan 36 na empleyado ng ahensiya ang naapektuhan.
“The reforms that we are implementing do not end in the mere changing of people,” ani ng commissioner. “We want a more holistic approach in our improvements and this includes skills training and capacity-building, as well as infrastructural and technological upgrades,” dagdag nito.
