Tuloy na ang balasahan sa Presidential Communication Office (PCO) matapos lagdaan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang Executive Order (EO) No. 16, na nag-aapruba sa reorganization ng tanggapan.
Ibig sabihin, pagsasamahin na ang mga communication activities para mas maayos ang pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa publiko. Lunes, Pebrero 13 pinagtibay ni Marcos ang EO No. 16 na suplemento sa nauna niyang nilagdaang EO No. 11 noong Disyembre 29, 2022.
Ang EO No. 11 ay ang pagsasaayos ng administrative structure ng Office of the President (OP) at pagpapalit ng pangalan ng Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) na gagawin nang PCO.
Ang nasabing opisina na sabjek ng balasahan ay pamumunuan pa rin ng isang secretary, na susuportahan ng 5 undersecretaries, 14 na Assistant Secretaries, kasama ang isang Assistant Secretary na direktang mag-uulat sa kalihim ng PCO.
Pangungunahan ng linang undersecretary ang limang functional areas ng restructured PCO partikular ang Traditional Media at External Affairs, Digital Media Services, Content Production, Broadcast Production and Operations, at Administration at Finance.
“As the government’s main body responsible for crafting, developing, and coordinating the messaging system of the OP, the restructured PCO will now be tasked to coordinate closely with the Presidential Adviser for Creative Communications on matters relating to communications and information dissemination,” ayon sa PCO.
Sa mandato ng EO No. 16, inaatasan ang PCO na direktang makipag-uganyan sa Presidential Adviser for Creative Communication para sa communications and information dissemination, alinsunod sa pangunahing responsibilidad nito na i-develop at i-coordinate ang messaging system ng Office of the President.
Sa ilalim din ng executive order, ang Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) tulad ng PTV, Apo Production Unit, IBC, at ang National Printing Office, ay ibabalik na sa ilalim ng PCO, at pangangasiwaan ng isang Assistant Secretary.
Ilalagay na sa direktang pangangasiwa ng PCO ang Presidential Broadcast Service-Bureau of Broadcast Services; Bureau of Communication Services; News and Information Bureau; Freedom of Information-Program Management Office; Philippine Information Agency; at ang Presidential Broadcast Staff-Radio Television Malacañang.
