Inanunsyo ng University of the Philippines kahapon, Pebrero 15 na ibabalik na ang college admission test ngayong taon pagkatapos ng tatlong taong walang ‘UP College Admission Test’ o ‘UPCAT’ dahil sa pandemya.
Sa isang facebook post ng UP, magiging accessible na ang ‘Applicants Personal Data’ sa online portal pagdating ng Marso 2023 habang ang mismong exam ay isasagawa sa Hunyo 3 hanggang hunyo 4 sa mahigit 100 test centers sa buong bansa.
“All applications are to be done online and applicants need to encode their grades for grade 8, 9, 10, and 11 in the UPCAT online portal. Though applicants may still be in grade 11 when they apply, exam takers will encode their grades online only in September 2023 when Grade 11 grades are final and complete,” ayon sa post.
“Also in September 2023, the University shall request hard copies of the official grades of applicants from their school to be used for verification purposes of the Office of Admissions,” dagdag pang anunsyo.
Ang mga papalaring makapasa sa UPCAT ay maaaring pumasok sa first semester ng academic year 2024-2025
Matatandaan na noong kasagsagan ng pandemya, hindi muna itinuloy ang UPCAT sa halip ay tumanggap sila ng mga estudyante base sa kanilang scholastic performance noong sila ay nasa highschool.
Noong nakaraang taon, nag file ng Senate Resolution No. 157 si Senator Alan Peter Cayetano na hinihimok ang UP na ipagpatuloy ang pangangasiwa ng UPCAT para sa academic year 2023-2024.
